Flourish
I've had so much fun painting this week. Ended up having extra time to just enjoy it and play around. {I posted the progress on this one earlier because I wasn't finished, but I finished it last night and added the top photo} It's amazing how painting contributes to my happiness. I feel so much lighter afterwards, as if a load evaporated off my shoulders.
We have my son's basketball game Saturday morning and it's going to be the most difficult team of the season. He is psyched about it. I am too, because it'll be a fun game to watch. What are you doing this weekend?

Deleteflourish - is such a wonderful word - it makes me think of all sorts of unfurling, unfolding - discoveries - adventures. Weekend - taking two of my friends to a coffee shop out in the country to have tea and scones / tidying up my studio / working on some designs for cards and swimming.........
ReplyDeleteAll of that sounds lovely, Clare! Enjoy your weekend.
DeleteI know I feel better when I've had a chance to paint as well!

Hannah, I passionately believe that everyone has painting skills. If you were here, I'd say grab some paint and pull up a chair. :D
DeleteAlways fun to watch an artists progress on a piece...it came out well! HPPF!
ReplyDeleteI always love seeing other people's progress too. Thanks, Lynn.
Deletepainting is the best therapy around isn't it... and this weekend it is all about Australia Day... long weekend and celebrations everywhere and the normal seasonal rain to make it all interesting... part of the fun of the weekend is dodging the rain... xx
ReplyDeleteIt so is. Australia Day sounds super fun, hope you enjoy it!
DeleteVery nice. I think it came I great! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Gloria. :)
DeleteSomething I love about your paintings is that from one piece to the next, I can always tell it's one of yours. You have a very distinct style, and I love that they all fit together even though they stand alone, if that makes any sense :)
ReplyDeleteThis weekend I'm going to see a local HS production of Sweeney Todd.... a little concerned but curious!
Thank you for saying that, Kristin. It makes me happy to know. I hope you have fun seeing Sweeney Todd!
DeleteBeautiful and I love the way some of your colorful backgrounds bleeds through the white. Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jessica. I love color so much I can't bring myself to cover it completely. :)
DeleteI love your finished work - the "white" space with hints of color showing through makes your portrait really pop. Happy PPF
