A playful work in progress
Sometimes it's easy to forget to play. I bought bubbles for my daughter's party and it cracked me up how much they used them. We adults sometimes get so caught up in surviving life that we forget to enjoy it. I'm wishing you a weekend full of playfulness!
{Also, the lovely Rachel Awes is graciously sharing a few of my paintings on her blog today! Hope you'll check it out!}
a good reminder heading into the weekend : )

I sometimes think about how easy it was to use our imagination when we were kids. Today it's like we don't even think about the stuff kids come up with to play. You had fun, I can tell. :) Great wip!
ReplyDeleteLove this playful piece, and yes, I think your'e right. Everyone needs to play!

ReplyDeleteIt's so true, we get so caught up in what life's throwing at us it gets pushed to the bottom of the pile! I'm so glad I visited Rachel today because it brought me here to your wonderful blog.

You're so very right! We forget to enjoy the simple things sometimes, or to take joy in the things that used to make us so happy. Bubbles are an excellent example. Last year at my graduation party, the kids used up all the graduation bubbles we had just having fun outside playing with them. So I dug up bottles and bottles of bubbles I had stashed away from over the years (given as gifts most of the time) and let them have at it. I found it so amusing that something I had forgotten about and never got around to using, were used up in a matter of hours by these kids. Life is funny that way :
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm sorry with your momentary (insert appropriate word here) at your daughter's party. I think it's important not to be cliquey though, so even if she wasn't, and even if you were saying something for her sake instead of to keep up appearances, it's important that it be said. Maybe it wasn't the right time, but hey! That's life right? We all make mistakes and put our foot in our mouths from time to time : ] I'm sure she has already forgiven you and that picture of her smiling says so : ] She's beautiful btw! And the 1D cake is super cute. I don't really get the 1D thing, but probably because I'm not a kid anymore. I'm sure my parents didn't get my love for *Nsync back in the day haha.
I like your tent painting--it sounds like the perfect way to watch movies!!
I also like what you wrote about your internet persona. I love it when bloggers have these revelations. I'm excited to see where you go with it : ]
(All caught up again!)
Wonderful WIPs!
ReplyDeleteLoves seeing you featured on the all I did was listen blog today, too!
