Pink and Lime
Some friends invited me to paint with them on Monday nights (Penni, Mandy and sometimes Adrienne) and it's been completely inspiring. I love seeing what they're working on as well as chatting while we paint. I made this background while we were together a few weeks ago. I adore the lime green color. In fact, Penni said I stay around later if she pulls out the lime green paint. Hee-hee. :)
What are you working on this weekend?

love it! i really need to learn this mixed media thing. i have no clue where to start! but i love the way it looks! and how fun that you have a painting night with friends now!
ReplyDeleteI haven't painted in a couple weeks (since the Artist Expo class I took) but I've been itching to lately. Writing has sort of taken over all my extra time these days (and by writing I mean revising and querying, because it feels like a full time job!).
Sounds like you may need a creative break in a different facet! Beware, mixed media is addicting! ;) Two books I would HIGHLY recommend for a beginner are Taking Flight by Kelly Rae Roberts and Daring Adventures in Paint by Mati Rose (said as Matey).
DeleteWonderfully created background ~ me? working on 'fine tuning' my collages ~ in between 'social stuff' ~ enjoy the weekend ~~ thanks, ^_^ (A Creative Harbor)

It's always fun to pile it on! :D
DeleteFun and pretty here Catherine. I can't talk and paint for some reason so I sit alone at my table. :(
ReplyDeleteYou know I kind of understand that. I usually paint backgrounds while chatting because detailed painting takes more concentration.
