Wanna Trade Strengths?

Source
I want someone else's strengths; mine are lame.  I took a strengths test this week (here) and these were the results:
1.  Appreciation of beauty and excellence
2.  Curiosity and interest in the world
3.  Spirituality, sense of purpose, faith
4.  Love of learning
5.  Gratitude

See what I mean? Lame. Because, what can I do with these?  I guess I see where a Love of Learning and a Spirituality/Sense of Purpose could be helpful. But appreciating beauty? Doesn't everyone? I mean this isn't exactly stand-out material.

I got my results and wished I'd been strong in Bravery/Valor or Industry/Diligence/Perseverance--now those are strengths. They seem gallant-- mine seem unnecessary.

Although, the funny thing is that if someone else came to me with this list, I'd be able to see how it plays out in their life and why it's important. But being me, I struggle to see the significance of them in my life. Not that I'm ungrateful (see strength #5).

Then it hit me, my strengths can all be used here on the blog. *cue the Twilight Zone music*  *doo-doo-doo-doo* No wonder I love blogging! *cheesy smile*

My strengths do have a purpose, they do, they do!

What are your strengths? Do you like them or would you wanna trade? Forget I said mine were lame, they'll look great on you!

Also, the winner of a free calligram print by Joni James is: Camille Yanair! Congratulations!
{Sorry I didn't have this on the post earlier. Obviously organization isn't one of my strengths}

  1. when i read the first part of the blog I was gonna say, "hey! your strengths are precious!" so I'm glad you discovered that yours are important.

number 1 - not everyone actually has this, which causes complaining and lack of being content. plus you can see the gold and beauty in people when they themselves can't see it.

i like your strengths! now i'm going to take this test!

  2. I can definitely see how appreciating beauty can be a strength. I don't think that's a strength that everyone shares--there is too much evidence to the contrary!

    1. You do? I love appreciating beauty, but it just felt like everyone could do that. I kinda see your point though. Thanks for sharing!

    2. Catherine,
For the person with the strength, it always seems like it should be second nature to everyone else. But it's not! Your strengths are precious. Here's the proof: try imagining your life without them. <3

  3. I suppose my strength is creativity and definitely a curiosity of the world and people, but I'd love to have more perseverance and bravery.

  5. To me it seems that your strengths show how you can and do fully live and enjoy your life. Can you imagine being someone who does not appreciate beauty and excellence? They would completely overlook the small wonders all around! Your curiosity and love of learning allows you to seek those wonders out, your spirituality allows you to see a purpose behind them, and your gratitude allows you to be thankful for all you see.

    Doesn't sound lame to me!

  6. My number 1 is curiosity and my number 2 is love of learning and they fit me well. I then have citizenship, fairness, humor and spirituality, followed by gratitude and wonder. I thought love would be further up, but on the whole, this is me. I enjoyed taking this test and your qualities are terrific!

  7. your strengths make you the special person that you are :)
Id say that 1 and 2 allow you to be the arty creative person that you are without seeing those qualities in the world around you I dont think youd be as good at art as you are :)

  8. I think your strengths are to be admired. Seeing beauty, no, not everyone does. Think of all those people that look at everything and anything then make a negative comment. Many self induced miserable people running around on this planet, sad but true. Yay, you are not one of them!!!!
cheers and enjoy your strengths! Talent being the end result!
