How I Paint

I thought I'd take pictures as I worked this week on a new painting. I wanted to have it completed by Friday but it didn't work out that way. I'm sharing anyways because it shows a bit of my process. Anytime I'm having difficulty overcoming painter's block or being a perfectionist about what I want to do, I pick up a bottle of paint and squeeze out a bit on the blank canvas. This takes away the pressure of it being perfect and then I'm free to play.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

  1. I always find it fascinating to watch art-in-progress. So much comes into play all at once ... the mind, visuals, hands, connections, adjustments. Thanks for sharing your creating today.

  2. Thanks for sharing this. It's good to be reminded that art is often better when it's NOT perfect.

  11. I always enjoy seeing how artists work. Sometimes just starting something, even if you're not sure where you're headed is all it takes. Good luck with this piece.

  20. There is nothing better for a creative block than just starting to splash a little paint of scribble a bit, suddenly your mind just opens up.
