Painting these was another step in my grieving process, it was emotional but so therapeutic to create and bring something into the world that reminds us of her amazing life.

Commissioned with Love
I was commissioned to paint three paintings for my sweet friend's family for Christmas. The first one for her daughter, the second for her sister and the last for her precious Mother-in-Law. As I began layering the background, I wove pieces of their relationship throughout. It was such a joy to remember and to bring her beauty to light. I wanted each painting to be able to stand alone but also to be able to be grouped together if at some point they want to do that. I painted the daughter leaning into her mom, the sisters leaning upon each other and my sweet friend leaning into her mother-in-law. Each of them strong women on their own but the strength of them together--powerful.
Painting these was another step in my grieving process, it was emotional but so therapeutic to create and bring something into the world that reminds us of her amazing life.

I loved that you leaned them into each other, and I'd love to see them hung in a group.
