- My mother-in-law laughing hysterically.
- A dear friend weeping at the painting I gave them.
- My husband high on vacation.
- Our game of Hide-the-Elf (he's creepy, no?). Whoever finds it must hide it in plain view for the next victim; December is a scream--literally.
- Beginning new traditions: choosing a baby from one of our many nativity scenes to keep with us all day on Christmas.
- Having lots of nativity scenes because we were gifted them at our December wedding. (I'll give some truths on marriage tomorrow on our anniversary!)
- The box of paints my husband gifted me.
- And the Snickers bar from my son. *melt*
There will be more Christmas to come for me; the rest of our family is celebrating this weekend). What did you love about your holiday this year?
Ha! I like your hide the elf game.I bet he could spook somebody!
ReplyDeleteI think my favorite moments were watching the final Harry Potter movie on DVD with my daughter and an impromptu dinner invite from old friends.
Best wishes for the New Year, Catherine.
Catherine, your elf would scare the crap outta me if I found him squatting over my doorway, creeping beneath my stairs, or crouching behind the milk in my fridge in the middle of the night! *Wide Eyes*
ReplyDeleteYour Amazing Christmas Moments warms my heart.
Love! And Happiest New Year!
We bought an iPad and a Kindle Fire for the four of us to use. This changes everything. Well, not everything. But we will be doing things much differently in 2012. I love downloading books to the Kindle Fire. Fits in my jacket pocket and I can take it anywhere I go. The iPad .... need I say more? It's awesome!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and yours. Enjoy time with family and friends.
Enjoyed reading your list of favorite Christmas moments... I love the idea of carrying around a baby Jesus for the whole day of Christmas as a reminder of what the day really is all about! My favorite memories are mainly of my kids (5 & 6)... spreading 'magic oats' on the lawn to attract Santa's reindeer, reading 'The Night Before Christmas', watching them unwrap their presents with such joy... really, I could go on and on :)
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary, and have a Happy New Year!!
Creepy...Yes!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your new tradition. It must be a great reminder of God's love all day long for you. What a wonderful gift for your friend, a beautiful creation made from your hands.
Happy New Year!
Wanting to wish you a happy Anniversary tomorrow! It makes for a busy holiday season so hope you take the time together! What a great idea to list the highlights from Christmas! Mine would be the joy my grandkids got from the blankets I made them - just serged panels, so super easy, but they love them! Have a wonderful New Year.
